Bangladesh Navy Chief Meets China's Central Military Commission

Admiral Wu Shengli, member of China's Central Military Commission (CMC), met with Vice Admiral Farbid Habibul, the visiting chief of Navy Staff of Bangladesh in Beijing on the afternoon of October 27, 2014.

Wu Shengli pointed out that China and Bangladesh are connected by mountains and waters, and have a long history of friendly contacts. The friendship between the people of the two countries goes back to ancient times, the bilateral relations develop healthily and smoothly, and the exchanges and cooperation in various fields keep reaching new levels.
  The contacts between the naval forces of the two countries remain stable. The taskforce of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) visited Bangladesh as its first voyage abroad, and the "Peace Ark" hospital ship has visited Bangladesh twice and provided medical services.
  The naval officers and men of the two countries have conducted exchanges at different levels in recent years, which has consolidated and developed the mutual friendship and trust.
  Wu Shengli said that developing a mutual-trust, win-win and everlasting relationship between the naval forces of the two countries is of great significance for both sides in jointly facing security challenges and deepening the China-Bangladesh bilateral relations and military ties. Wu hoped that both sides can continue to strengthen cooperation in such aspects as high-level reciprocal visits, warship visits, and interschool exchanges. Wu Shengli also invited the warships, naval officers and students of Bangladesh to come to China for visit and study.
  Farbid Habibul and his entourage will also visit the North China Sea Fleet and Dalian Naval Academy of the PLAN.
