Bangladesh procuring FC-1 fighter aircraft from china

 As a part of modernization plan the government of Bangladesh established an airbase in Cox's bazar and planned to equip it with chinese F-7BG multirole fighter aircraft based on soviet mig-21.As China stopped making F-7 aircraft,Bang;adesh decided to procure FC-1 fighter aircraft.Total 16 units will be ordered costing each 15 million us dollar equiped with sd-10 BVR missile.Bangladesh also procuring 28 Type-96 tanks from china each costing $4M.The navy is getting two F-22B frigate with three  Z-9c ASW helicopter in late 2012 though frigate process is unclear.


নৌবাহিনীর আধুনিকায়নে চীনের কাছ থেকে তিনটি হেলিকপ্টারসহ দুটি ফ্রিগেট কেনার প্রস্তাব করেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা। তাঁর এ প্রস্তাবেও ইতিবাচক মনোভাব দেখিয়েছিল চীন। জানা গেছে, ফ্রিগেট কেনার ব্যাপারে অগ্রগতি না থাকলেও চীনের কাছ থেকে অন্য ধরনের সমরাস্ত্র কেনার প্রক্রিয়া শুরু হয়েছে। সেনাবাহিনীর জন্য কয়েকটি ট্যাংকের পাশাপাশি বিমানবাহিনীর জন্য কয়েকটি জঙ্গিবিমান কেনা হচ্ছে
