Rest In Peace BGB Nayek Mizanur Rahman

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Nayek Mizanur Rahman, who was shot dead by Myanmar border troops in Naikhangchhari-Myanmar border area of Bandarban on May 28, was laid to eternal rest at his village home in Debidar of Comilla yesterday.
The body of Mizanur, son of martyred lance corporal Abdul Hafiz, was flown to Comilla by a helicopter from Naikhangchhari BGB Battalion headquarters yesterday following his first namaz-e-janaza there.

Later in the afternoon, he was buried at his family graveyard at Bhela Nagar village after his second namaz-e-janaza with the highest BGB honour.
As the body reached his village, family members and relatives burst into tears.
Mizanur left behind his mother, Rabeya Akhter, wife, Shamima Akhter Parul, and four daughters.
“Now what will be the future of my four daughters? How will I pass the days ahead with my children,” wailed Mizanur's wife yesterday.
Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) shot him and then reportedly intruded into Bangladesh territory to take his body away. On Friday, they attacked another BGB team, when they went near the spot looking for Mizanur, triggering a gun battle.
Besides, there still remains some tension along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border as the neighbouring state is still keeping its army deployed along the border. BGB also remained alert to thwart any attack.
A BGB team brought the body on March 31.
Bangladesh earlier informed Myanmarese ambassador to Bangladesh about the reported deployment of army along the border and asked for immediate withdrawal of the force from the border as it violated a 1980 agreement.

However, BGB officials said things might ease after the upcoming sector commander level flag meeting scheduled to be held between the two sides in Myanmar on Thursday.
Earlier in a short briefing at Naikhongchhari BGB battalion yesterday, Brig Gen Syed Ahmed Ali, region commander of Chittagong, said BGB in the flag meeting will ask the BGP why they had launched such an unexpected attack on BGB.
“To maintain friendly relationship between the two countries, we have many points to discuss in the flag meeting but first we will stress on this matter so that such kind of incident would not occur in the bordering areas again”, he added.
