Annual exercise of Bangladesh Navy "Exercise Sea Thunder
2015" begins.
The Bangladesh Navy has started displaying its full firepower, including launching of missiles, Rocket Depth Charge (RDC), surface firing and fighting prowess as part of its annual war games ‘Exercise Sea Thunder 2015’ in allover sea-boundary in the Bay of Bengal from yesterday. As part of strengthening the naval capabilities in sea warfare, surface to air missiles will be launched at the target drone, unmanned aerial vehicle, with a view to protect the country’s maritime boundary and deep sea resources, sources said.
The exercise would conclude on January 27 through the launching of missiles, anti-submarine gun firing, anti-aircraft firing and display of various techniques of naval warfare.
Most of BN ships and newly inducted maritime patrol helicopters are participating in the exercise, the naval sources added.
